G8 Currency Strength

Strength = log-return vs the G8 basket over the selected window, computed from daily ECB reference rates via Frankfurter. Informational only — not a trade signal.

How to read it

Currency strength measures each currency's performance against a basket of its peers rather than a single counterpart. If EUR is at the top of the ladder and JPY at the bottom, EUR/JPY captured the widest divergence over that window.

Strength ladders are context, not entries: pair a divergence with your own setup criteria. A strong-vs-weak pairing tends to trend cleaner than two currencies fighting in the middle of the pack.

Our meter uses daily ECB reference rates and centers the basket at zero, so readings are comparable across windows. The heatmap alongside it shows the live pair-by-pair picture from TradingView.
